Garuda Aviary is maintained by a dedicated staff of volunteers. Would you like to be part of our team? This page will tell you what you need to know, and what you will need to do.

Parrots are territorial, and wary of new people. For these reasons, we don’t do random, occasional volunteering. Our volunteers make a weekly, or minimum biweekly commitment to be on our volunteer schedule.

The duties include food preparation, or cleaning.
Veterinary professionals or students may apply to assist in handling or veterinary care.

The timeframe is 1:00pm to 5:00pm for most volunteering duties.

Our minimum age requirement is 18 years old.

Contraindications for volunteering are…
•Any form of respiratory disease (COPD, asthma, etc.),
•Compromised immune system.
•Some (but not all) forms of physical disability.
